Why this Emotional Dependence?

We are tremendously lonely, empty.  We want to fill that, and dependence is one of the ways.  If we see that it is absolutely futile to try to cover it up, that it is impossible to escape from it.  Whether through marriage, through drink, through God, through churches, through literature, through painting, through music, through children, then we are faced with a fact.
