Brockwood Park School in England is a small community of teachers and young adults, founded by Krishnamurti to serve as a milieu for exploring the fundamental questions of life and for growing inwardly. Aware of the problems of living in such a group, he asks: ‘What’s the point of Brockwood if you are going to turn out like the many millions of people who have never felt, or inquired, or lived, in the sense of this vast deepening, flowing, flowering?’ At the end of the discussion, Krishnamurti restates his basic proposition that while thought is necessary in practical matters, it is ‘deadly in relationship’.
